Evie Jones – Bio
Evie Jones is a Sydney-based university student and emerging writer and photographer with a strong interest in human stories and underreported communities. In 2026, she is in the final year of a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney, majoring in Indigenous Cultural Studies with a minor in Modern History and Politics.
Growing up in a news-media household sparked Evie’s curiosity about the world and the events that shape people’s lives. Through writing and photography, she documents everyday experiences, seeking to give voice to individuals and communities often overlooked by mainstream headlines.
Evie has travelled widely through Southeast Asia and spent three months volunteering with a Thailand–Burma Aid Organisation, in Mae Sot on the Thai–Myanmar border. There she assisted Burmese refugees displaced by the ongoing conflict, contributing to reports, administrative work and basic medical support while witnessing firsthand the realities of displacement, poverty and frontline warfare.
Evie hopes to continue pursuing essay writing, journalism and field research, with the goal of working with media or humanitarian organisations to document stories that matter.
